Universe request period
The weeks a universe must cover, ending on the engagement letter date and sized by MA/MAPD enrollment.
The scope of each universe is the period preceding and including the audit engagement letter date: 12 weeks for fewer than 50,000 enrollees, 8 weeks for 50,000 to under 250,000, 4 weeks for 250,000 to under 500,000, and 2 weeks for 500,000 or more. CMS reserves the right to expand the review period to ensure sufficient universe size.
